Sandy was just a puppy when he came into the life of Mr Moraise who was about fourteen at the time. He was part of a little a friend of an aunt was giving away.
For the next three years, Sandy became the constant companion of the youth who was an only child. They played and slept together, developing an unbreakable bond.
"I talked to him and he 'talked' to me," he said."He could sense when I was feeling depressed and when nobody else could."
"He was gentle with children - he would let them grab his tail and pull his nose. It was hard not to like him, even if you were no animal - lover. HE was special."
Perhaps every owner thinks his dog is special, but sandy was equally devoted to his master. One day in 1987, Sandy had a heart attack while Mr Morais was at school. The veterinain was called in, but he said nothing could be done for him. Sandy refused to die. For four hours he held on, bleeding from mouth. Finally, Mr Moraise came home. Sandy, satisfied he had seen his master one last time, died peacefully minutes later in the boy's arms...(the last part made me cry..)...i cried..it was soo touching! WAAHHHH!! I luv animals!!:(..sobs, it came frmo the eng prac paper (5) ....the editing part..sobs.
